How to Avoid the Facebook Porn Video Virus?

People are curious when they see a friend or business post a porno on their Facebook page.  Out of curiosity, they will click the link.
A porno video will begin playing but will advise the user in order to continue playing, they need to update the Flash Player.  Don’t do this!  There is a virus inside this fake Flash Player.
If you fall for this scam, you too will be infected by the virus.

Tips to Avoiding the Facebook Porn Video Virus

  • Use security software that will block malware (not just viruses).
  • The security software must also block risky web links and phishing attempts (as happens when users click the Facebook porno links).
  • Use a different Facebook password from all other online websites.
  • When a website tells you to update your Flash program or Adobe reader, never do this.  Instead, visit the official software vendors site to perform an update.

The Risk of Not Fixing the Problem

Some choose to ignore the problem.

Friends and groups will unfriend and block the person because the malware is essentially spamming everyone and every group they are members of.

Groups will protect themselves and individuals will tire of the offensive messages and have no choice but to take action on their part.

In some cases, it can be hard to get back into private groups, so take extra care and caution to fix the problem and make sure it can’t happen again.
